Questions You May Have

We are committed to providing the safest environment possible for you, our clients!

As always, you will receive one-to-one care, in a private room setting. The treatment surfaces are cleaned with high grade disinfectant before/after each visit, and additonal contact barriers are in place on the treatment table. As well, any physiotherapy devices/equipment will be disinfected. Linen is changed before/after each appointment and washed daily.

Surfaces in the waiting room and bathroom, doorknobs, the Point of Sale machine (which has a tap feature), and all other points of contact are disinfected regularly. Plexiglass has been installed in reception.

Hand sanitizer is available, or you can choose to wash your hands in the bathroom.

A face mask will be worn by your therapist, with hand washing occurring before/after each treatment session.

Our waiting room allows the appropriate distance of 2 metres for social distancing. There are 2 doorways in/out of the clinic. As always, appointments are made at the frequency of one-to-one care, and there are 2 private treatment rooms, so the possibility of being in close quarters with another client is extremely low.

Screening will occur before new patient appointments, and as needed, with follow up appointments. We encourage all clients to conduct a self assessment for covid 19 symptoms before each appointment. Virtual physiotherapy appointments remain available for those who are at risk or who do not wish to be seen in person in the clinic.

You do not require a doctor referral to receive physiotherapy treatment at The Injuries Centre. However, you may require one for your extended health benefit coverage for treatment or assistive devices.

No, physiotherapy at The Injuries Centre is not covered under OHIP. You may be covered partially or completely covered under your workplace extended benefits. We offer direct billing to many workplace benefits insurance companies. Be sure to research this prior to your first physiotherapy session. We are happy to assist you with this process.

We do direct bill on behalf of Motor Vehicle Patients. We do not invoice WSIB directly, but we will work with you in your claim to WSIB.

For any portion not covered under direct billing to insurers, we accept Visa, MasterCard, debit, cash, personal cheque and etransfer.

On your first appointment, you will be assessed by Suzanne (registered physiotherapist) with a series of questions about your pain or injury history and any other relevant information. You will then be put through a thorough physical and biomechanical examination. At all times, your pain will be respected, meaning you will not be forced to submit to tests that aggravate your symptoms.

Upon completion of the examination, Suzanne will form a hypothesis as to the origin of your symptoms. This hypothesis will be relayed to you in “everyday language” and any questions you have will be addressed. With your consent, Suzanne will perform “hands on” treatment (including joint and soft tissue mobilization, and use of modalities if deemed appropriate) to attempt to correct the biomechanical issues causing your pain. This will be followed with prescription of exercises (range of motion, stretching, strengthening and biomechanical re-education) that will compliment the mobilizations performed within treatment session.

In general, injuries treated at The Injuries Centre include any joint of soft tissue disorder that is musculo-skeletal or biomechanical in origin. For example:

  • Sports injuries
  • Low back pain
  • Neck and upper back pain
  • Arthritic joints
  • Tendinitis/bursitis/plantar fasciitis
  • Post-fracture and post-surgery rehabilitation
  • MVA- Motor Vehicle Accidents
  • TMJ- jaw pain
  • Sprains, strains, muscle and ligament injuries, meniscus tears
  • Overuse syndromes

  • No, we do not.

We require 24 hours' notice for a cancellation, or a “no-show” fee will be applied. However, we are sympathetic to events outside of your control.
